2016 Season AGM done!

A terrific turnout of 30+ Members were on hand at the 2016 BRCC AGM on Thursday 28th January, where reflections on the 2015 season were given, plans made for 2016, and Club officers voted in.

Sat in the middle of the top table, Club President, Frank Taylor, welcomed friends of BRCC to the meeting, flanked by Club Secretary, Matthew Grimes, and Chairman, Robin Snook.

Alex Miller, Oliver Musgrave and Tom Holmes gave their reports on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI seasons, talking to mixed Club and individual successes for 2015, before Sandra Scarlett and Jim Farmery followed up with reviews of the Women and Girls and Junior sections.

Nominations for Club Officers were received, with Frank, Robin and Matthew duly voted back into their previous roles, as were the incumbent captains of the 2nd and 3rd XIs, although there was a change at the top of the 1st XI – With T20 skipper Robbie Miller taking on the captaincy of the 1st XI for 2016. A healthy discussion followed regarding subs and match fees, before Robin Snook updated the participants with news of a packed 2016 social calendar, including the 2nd Annual BRCC Golf Challenge, Race Night and hopes for another shot at a game against the Yorkshire Visually Impaired Cricket Club, following last season’s washout. A brief update on the Sports Club’s development plans followed, before Matthew Grimes explained the latest developments from the Aire Wharf Senior Cricket League, including the use of the Play Cricket site for the coming season, before Frank Taylor brought proceedings to an end just before 10pm.

Congratulations to the elected officers and to the guys sat at the top table for chairing the night, and here’s to a terrific 2016 for our passionate, community based club.
