BRCC mourn the loss of Barrie Somers

It is with great sadness that the club must advise of the passing of former 1XI Vice-Captain and BRCC President Barrie Somers.

Barrie was instrumental in the club joining the Bradford League in 1987 and his tireless work laid the foundations for all who have followed since.

Beyond his warm personality, spirit and commitment to whatever he put his hand to, Barrie was a sportsman of great talent, representing Yorkshire Second XI as well as representing North of England and Yorkshire at hockey.

Much loved by all who knew him, the thoughts of all at the club are with his wife Sylvia and his family at this sad time.
