Three win weekend for senior teams!

With the 3rd XI winning at home to the Mutineers on Sunday, BRCC saw a hat-trick of wins for the senior teams this weekend.

The 1st XI knocked off Tong Park Esholt CC’s 212 with five wickets to spare - an unbeaten partnership of 145 seeing us over the line, with Kervon Christmas finishing on 54* and Redmond Bolton on 90*. After a tough start to the 2015 Season, the 1s now have four wins in the last five games.

The 2nd XI recorded a 97 run win over Kirkstall Educational CC, with Richard Bolton coming out of retirement to hit 117 on route to 224-5, before Rhydding bowled KECC out for 127. Following on from Andrew Jenning’s ton last week, the 2s are proving that ‘If you’re (still) good enough, you’re young enough!’

And finally, on Sunday, the 3rd XI knocked of The Mutineers’ total of 132ao, with two wickets remaining. Rhydding skipper for the day Roam Hamilton won the toss and put old friend Andrew Stoddard’s side in to bat, and proceeded to take a 4-for, with support from Dan Rowe with 2. After some early wickets in our reply, Peter Rowe (32*) and Luke Thompson (37*) saw us over the line for a great win, played in the spirit of Sunday cricket.

Same again next time round?
