2020 Season's Prospects

Despite the unprecedented disruption to pre-season preparations, Ben Rhydding CC is hopeful of getting cricket started as soon as it is safe to do so, without too much impact on the integrity of the 2020 competition.

This winter the Club has bid a fond farewell to two former club captains, Henry Barrow and Robbie Miller, who we wish well at our local rivals Burley CC and Addingham CC respectively. A special note of thanks must go to Robbie, who made his first team debut for the club at 13 and has since been an ever present and essential part of the club’s success over the last decade. First team cult hero Michael Slater has also returned to Green Lane CC. We look forward to welcoming them all back to the club socially in 2020.

On a more positive note, we are delighted to welcome back Lewis Bolton from his sojourn at Burley CC, alongside another addition from our already strong Leeds Trinity University contingent, Lewis Hobbs. With other signings in the pipeline, the first team hope to challenge strongly in their first season back in Division Three since 2010. Forrest Hamilton will take over the 1st XI captaincy from Alex Miller, who due to work commitments, will miss much of the season, but we hope to see Alex as much as possible.

Charles Isherwood takes over the 2nd XI captaincy from Matthew Vowles, with a brief to continue developing the promising youngsters at the Club, alongside our established old hands.
