Welcoming of the Peter Bryett memorial bench

On a wet Saturday morning, ahead of the 1st XI home match against New Rover CC, family, friends and Club members gathered on the outfield, as we held a short ceremony to welcome the addition of the stunning Peter Bryett memorial bench to Coutances Way.

Peter’s son, Chris Bryett, gave a short tribute to his father, particularly explaining how he had loved spending time at the ground, watching his grandsons play the game he became so fond off. Club President, Frank Taylor, then shared his own reflections, before thanking Brent Thompson for creating such a fabulous hand-crafted bench.

Frank closed proceedings by commenting that Peter remains with us all, particularly when each of us look at the bench dedicated to his memory, positioned to give such a beautiful view of on field events across the ground.

Finally, our thanks to Dickie and Red Bolton, who installed the bench on its concrete slabs.
