Our man, best in Yorkshire!

Well, for one Saturday at least. Henry Barrow’s sensational return of 9-45 in our 1st XI match at home to Calverley St Wilfrids CC, not only saw us win the match, but his figures proved to be the best in the county on 4th August. Take a bow son

After the top three all got a start but didn’t convert, Rhydding stumbled to 144, with Nick Smith’s 37 giving us something to bowl at. And that ‘something’ proved enough…

Having accounted for the two openers, AJ spoilt the part by bowling their number 3, before H then took the remaining 6 wickets, to including the last 5 for 16 runs.

The bowling hall makes it onto the AWSCL’s honours board, whilst a quick review by BRCC resident stato, Peter Taylor, suggests that these are the best figures by a Rhydding bowler whilst we’ve been part of the AWSCL, beating Tony Todd’s 9-76 against Pool CC, in 2001.

Many Congratulations H - No doubt the win and record figures were celebrated with the usual calm…
