2015 Annual Awards Dinner all done!

The ultimate honor - The Ben Rhydding Cup

Our small, community Club once again put on a terrific Annual Awards Dinner at the Craiglands Hotel, celebrating the 2015 season.

Club secretary, Matthew Grimes, hosted the night, dishing out the awards and running the raffle, making crucial funds for the Club. President, Frank Taylor, gave a rousing speech, praising what the Club achieves year on year, and pointing forward towards our centenary in 2021, as something to plan for, and work towards.

To the awards - For the second year running, Charlie Swallow took a hatrick of awards – 1st XI batting, bowling and allrounder, but showed why he failed to pick up the fielding award, by dropping one o his trophies on the way back to his seat! What a way to bow out after a number of fine years of service for the Club, ahead of his mover to Horsforth CC.

2nd team skipper Oliver Musgrave was on hand to pick up his batting award, as was last season’s Junior of the Year, Jonny Wood, who collected the 2nd XI bowling gong. Although absent on the night, Andrew Jennings was awarded the allrounder award, along with a special plaque for the sensation feet of scoring a century and taking a five-for in the same match (Home Vs Olicanians).

Peter Rowe collected his 3rd XI fielding award, and the bowling award won by his younger son Dan, and Oliver Hatton enjoyed collecting his allrounder trophy, cheered on by his old man Neil, and begrudging applause from younger brother Charlie!

Natasha Sunderland picked up the WAGs batting award for the third year running, Hannah Spivey once again took home an award - the fielding award, whilst Hannah Bridge was voted Player’s Player by her teammates.

Finally, the big awards of the night were handed out to Chris Maunsell (Under 18s Shield), Tom Holmes (Ben Rhydding Shield – for off the field contribution) and Chloe Dinsdale deservedly picked up the Ben Rhydding Cup, for on and off the field contribution. Oh, and Redmond Bolton made it two in the row for the infamous Duck Cup! A full list of the award winners can be found here.

After the awards were dished out, Alex Miller walked us through the auction, before the serious matter of dancing got underway.

Hair well and truly being let down...

Well done to our award winners and to those who organised the event – Another sensational night to celebrate all that is good about our great club.
