The details of this year's big Club fundraising event have been confirmed, with the '24hr Bash!' incorporating a 'Caribbean Night' in honour of our overseas player Kervon Christmas!
The Club will be holding a full 24 hours of cricket based activity on Saturday 25th / Sunday 26th July, and are warmly encouraging all of our senior members, junior players and parents, along with relatives and friends of the Club to get involved and support the fundraising event. We're targeting everyone to raise £25 each, through being sponsored to be involved in at least one of the 'mini-events' that together make up the full 24hrs.
The event will start with the first ball of the 1st XI match Vs Thackley, and continue with a continuous Kwik Cricket match open to ALL starting at 6pm. From 8pm, Frank Taylor will start his legendary Beetle Drive game, whilst 'Caribbean' element of the night will kick off, with a Limbo Dancing competition, and authentic Caribbean food, cooked and served by 'Island Vibe' - Kervon's catering business. Tickets for the food are priced at a reasonable £5, and its hugely important that we all support this part of the event, and get to enjoy the unique and authentic experience!
From 10pm, the outdoor cricket continues, through to midnight, when we come indoors for a range of indoor cricket games and activities. As the long slog of the night comes to a close, we'll be serving a full fry up at 7.30am to set us for the final few hours. At 9.30, the 'Dads Vs Lads' match will start, as the U15s and U17s take on their old boys, to see who will hold the bragging rights within each household! To wrap things up, from 11.30 we have a full programme of Junior Section games - U9s, U11s and U13s to take us through to 1pm, and BOOM! - We're dome!
There will be a tombola running throughout the event, so please support the effort by buying your tickets, but also by offering prizes prior to the night. We'll also be drawing that week's winner of the 'Weekly Draw' at some point during the evening, so if you're not already signed up to that one - Get involved!
All funds raised will go towards the next stage in the development of our Countances Way ground - The building of a mini pavilion at the scoreboard end of the ground.
The event sponsorship form can be downloaded HERE.
Please support the Club, and get involved one way or another - By being sponsored, sponsoring, helping on the day(s), coming to the Caribbean Night part, playing in the All Age Cricket match, offering tombola prizes, etc, etc!
