Hugely successful individual start to 2105 Season!

The 2015 season is well under way, and whilst the results for the senior teams have been mixed, we’ve already seen some fantastic individual performances, including a 5-for with the ball, and with the bat – two tons and a smattering of 50s!

The first team has already left its mark on the 2015 Season Honours Board, with Charlie Swallow taking 5-36 off 15 in the first game, although Forrest Hamilton’s 77 wasn’t enough to see us overhaul Green Lane CC’s score, falling 60 runs short. In our second game against Tong Park Esholt CC, Redmond Bolton hit an awesome 103 n.o. off just 57 balls, ably supported by Robbie Miller’s 61. However, the game was abandoned with the opposition never looking like reaching the target, at 132-7.

A domineering start from the 2nd team saw them easily chase down Olicanian CC’s score of 183 for the loss of just one wicket, with Sam Housam finishing on 117 n.o., supported by Laurie O’Connor, who helped see us over the line with his 53 n.o. No such luck in our second game however, despite new signing Struan Connor hitting his debut half century for the Club – 75 in a total of 204, falling 83 short of Kirkstall Educational CC’s score of 287.

With an earlier start to the season than the other teams, the Women & Girls have experienced a tough start, as expected, whilst remaining competitive in most of their Thursday and Sunday fixtures. A highlight of their first few weeks remains Tash Sunderland smashing a rapid 78 in the WAGs rain affected season opener against Tottington St John CC.

Roll on more individual success, along with some further wins for all BRCC teams.
