Rattlesnakes start 2015 TB T20 Cup with a win!

Robbie Miller’s Rhydding Rattlesnakes won their opening game of the 2015 TB T20 Cup, knocking off Steeton CC’s 138 with four overs still to go.

On a wet, windy and bitterly cold June evening, Steeton CC won the toss and elected to bat, posting a defendable 138 on a green pitch down at Countances Way. T20 skipper Robbie Miller lead from the front with an economical four overs for just 24, whilst Rob Withers took 4-27 from his four.

T20 Shirt Sponsor MSG Disco was on hand to pump out some tunes during the match, Robin Snook manned the BBQ, and despite the bitter weather, a few cold beers were also sunk.

The Rattlesnakes made a steady start to the run chase, although a couple of early wickets checked our progress before Charlie Swallow (61 n.o.) and Kervon Christmas (20) steadied the ship to take us past 100. In the pouring rain, Matt Proudman (18 n.o.) joined Charlie at the crease to see us home.

The times TB T20 Cup winners Rhydding Rattlesnakes move on to their next three games in the competition against Menston, Guiseley and Pool , with the winner of Pool A taking on the winner of Pool B in the final.

Make sure you join us down at Countances Way at 6.15 on Thursday against Guiseley CC, for some more Boom, Blast and Bang fun!
