Spaces still available at Summer Cricket Coaching course!

With cricket weather finally upon us, and Ashes Fever building, here’s a reminder about the annual Summer Cricket Coaching course that BRCC runs – This year, Monday 3rd – Thursday 6th August. The course is open to boys and girls of age 7 – 15 years, for both regular players and those new to the game, and will be run at our Countances Way ground. Running from 10.00am – 4.00pm, the four days will involve coaching on techniques of batting, bowling and fielding, through group exercises, practice matches, and maybe even the odd bit of one on one coaching from our ECB level 2 qualified coaches! All equipment is provided, but all the players are welcome to bring along their own bats, helmets and o

June’s U9s Weekly Star Player Award winners confirmed!

We’re delighted to formally announce our four winners of the Under 9s Weekly Star Player Award, with all the winners for June now confirmed. BRCC U9s coaches, Chloe Dinsdale and Wendi Bolton, present the award at the end of each training session, with the winner selected based on attitude to their training, and what they gave to the squad that week. After months in the planning, BRCC took part the most unique T20 match of the season, when on June 18th we hosted The Roosters – A Dutch touring side, enjoying a cricket and golfing tour to West Yorkshire. With an average age of 54, the Rooster’s 30 strong touring party brought mountains of experience with them, with a number of their Members having played for the national team, and many others within the equivalent of county cricket over in the Netherlands. They also boast one PJ Bakker in their ranks, who played for Hampshire CCC in the late 80s and early 90s, where he was the County's leading wicket taker in the 1989 season. Inaugural U9s Weekly Star Player Award presented!

BRCC U9s coaches Chloe Dinsdale and Wendi Bolton were delighted to present Lucas Burke with the inaugural U9s Weekly Star Player Award. On presenting the trophy for the first time, Chloe commented “Lucas won the trophy this week for his concentration and determination - we were practicing the pull shot and Lucas tried really hard on perfecting his shot whilst also helping others. He listened throughout and showed great enthusiasm in the warm up and kwik cricket game.” Congratulations Lucas! Rattlesnakes start 2015 TB T20 Cup with a win!

Robbie Miller’s Rhydding Rattlesnakes won their opening game of the 2015 TB T20 Cup, knocking off Steeton CC’s 138 with four overs still to go. On a wet, windy and bitterly cold June evening, Steeton CC won the toss and elected to bat, posting a defendable 138 on a green pitch down at Countances Way. T20 skipper Robbie Miller lead from the front with an economical four overs for just 24, whilst Rob Withers took 4-27 from his four. T20 Shirt Sponsor MSG Disco was on hand to pump out some tunes during the match, Robin Snook manned the BBQ, and despite the bitter weather, a few cold beers were also sunk.
