Progress at NatWest Cricket Force weekend, despite the weather!

The annual NatWest Cricket Force weekend (Further details here) gave BRCC an opportunity to get Countances Way ready for the coming season. A number of the usual faces turned out, on a particularly wet and windy Saturday morning to make some inroads into the long list of tasks to get the clubhouse, scorebox area and square ready for all the 2015 season can throw at us. Harry Smallwood, our new head groundsman, was on hand early doors, to make some further preparations to the pitches, before the rest of the dusted off the sight screens and covers, and cleared the remnants of several seasons worth of debris from around the scorebox and grounds garage. Inaugural BRCC Golf Day a big success

Organiser of the first BRCC Golf Event, Robin Snook, writes: We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a dry days golf at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club. I would firstly like to thank all those who organised and entered teams into the event, and particularly like to thank Wendi Bolton who produced an excellent 3 course meal for us all afterwards back at BRCC. To the golf, there was some very average and also some very good scoring, Commiserations to Oliver Musgrave’s “Happy Gilmours” whose 79 points was eclipsed by Robbie Oldham’s “Part Timers” who were the worthy winners of the Inaugural BRCC Hallas Golf Trophy with 81 points. Women & Girls - Come and have a go!

As Ben Rhydding Women and Girls approach our second season in the first division we realise that with 20+ games to play we might need a few more players to keep us going through exams and holidays! We are holding a "come and have a go" session on Tuesday 31st March, between 7-9pm at Westville House School. All you need are suitable shoes - we will bring all other protective and playing equipment. Further details can be found here. BRCC has confirmed the details of this years’ ‘Cricket Force’ weekend. On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March, players, supporters and friends of Ben Rhydding Cricket Club will come together to prepare the Countances Way ground and Clubhouse for the 2015 Season. As ever, there’s a huge amount of work required to get the facilities, pitches and wider ground ready to host the ninety odd games for the coming Season. It’s hugely important that we come together as a Club to make this happen, with every hour given to the course making a difference.
